Howard Cheng in International Jockeys' Championship

Howard Y T Cheng has earned the honour of representing Hong Kong in the Cathay Pacific International Jockeys' Championship on 5 December.
With 14 winners up to the end of today's race meeting, Cheng takes the slot reserved for the leading local rider of the season.

"I'm looking forward to it. Although I have no idea about which horses I'll partner, one mustn't forget the advantage of riding on home track. I've been the runner-up in the 2005 event and I certainly hope to take one step forward this term," said Cheng, who shared the bonus for runner-up with Douglas Whyte in the event two years ago and obtained third place in 2003.
Including previously announced riders, 12 jockeys (see list below) will participate in next Wednesday's Cathay Pacific International Jockeys' Championship. According to the terms, no Freelance Jockey allowance may be claimed. As such, the two-pound weight allowance will not be applied to Cheng in the three legs of the Championship.

The jockeys are randomly allocated their mounts in a draw that will take place on Monday 3 December.
Point-scoring works as follows: for each of the three races 12 points are awarded to the winning jockey; six points to the first runner-up, four points to the second runner-up; three points to the fourth and two points to fifth.
The champion jockey will be the one accumulating the most points during the three designated races and will receive a bonus of HK$200,000 and a trophy. HK$100,000 will go to the runner-up. In the event of a tie, the jockey who has the most higher point-earning finishes receives the prize. The title will be shared if the riders can still not be separated.

世界超級騎師大賽韋達食尾胡總成績平頭第五

鄭雨滇將作為本地騎師代表，出戰 12月 5日舉行的 2007年國泰航空國際騎師錦標賽。
截至今日賽事完結為止，鄭雨滇季內已勝出 14場頭馬，為目前成績最佳的本地騎師，因而取得國泰航空國際騎師錦標賽參賽席位。

鄭雨滇表示：「好高興又有機會同各國高手較技，雖然未知道會抽到甚麼坐騎，但至少佔有主場之利。前年過亞軍，今年當然希望更進一步，為港爭光！」這名華將曾於 2005年在此項比賽與另一名香港代表韋達並列亞軍，另於 2003年那一屆獲得季軍。
連同之前已公佈的人選，總共十二位騎師（見下表）將於下星期三在跑馬地馬場參與國泰航空國際騎師錦標賽。賽事程序規定自由身騎師不獲減磅，換言之，鄭雨滇在相關三場賽事中將不會獲減兩磅。

十二位騎師的坐騎均以抽籤方式編配。抽籤將於下週一進行。
賽後按照所獲名次計分，冠軍12分，亞軍6分，季軍4分，第四名3分，第五名2分。三場賽事合計，取得總分最高者即為國泰航空國際騎師錦標賽冠軍，可得獎金二十萬港元及獎盃，亞軍則可獲獎金十萬元。假如出現兩名以上騎師所獲總分相同之情況，則獲得較高分數位置最多之一位為優勝者；若然如此仍未能判定名次，則有關獎金將由獲得相同總分的騎師平分。
