The Hong Kong Jockey Club announced today that it will officially commence its bet commingling arrangement with gaming companies in the United States at its season opening race meeting this Sunday (9 September).
This encouraging news follows the Nevada Gaming Commission’s decision a fortnight ago to approve an agreement between the Club and Nevada-based Las Vegas Dissemination Company (LVDC) to commingle bets wagered in the States directly into the Club's racing pools in Hong Kong.
Winfried Engelbrecht-Bresges, Chief Executive Officer of the Club, welcomed Foxwoods Resort Casino, a major gaming company in the United States, as the first authorised location in the US to accept bets on Hong Kong horse races and commingle them into the pools of the Club starting this Sunday.
"With LVDC set to co-operate with other prominent gaming entertainment companies in the US in the future, we look forward to providing our world-class racing products to more racing fans at more authorised locations in the US,'' he said.
Foxwoods Resort Casino, North America’s largest casino located on the Mashantucket Pequot Reservation in the state of Connecticut, has signed a 5-year agreement with LVDC to simulcast Hong Kong horse racing to racing fans at Foxwoods Resort Casino and to accept bets on these races to be commingled into the pools of the Club via LVDC. The Club endorses and welcomes Foxwoods participating in the commingling arrangement.

Ripping of Large All Weather Track
The Large All Weather Track was ripped today to a depth of 5 1/2”.
This serves to achieve thorough mixing of 120 cubic metres of bark chip applied on Tuesday 4 September and 100 tons of coarse river sand applied on Thursday 6 September respectively.

香港賽馬會設立賽馬匯合彩池
週日開始接受來自美國的注款
香港賽馬會今天宣佈，於週日（九月九日）馬季開鑼當天，正式展開與美國博彩公司達成的匯合投注安排。
宣佈這項令人振奮的消息之前不久，美國內華達州博彩管理委員會 ( Nevada
Gaming Commission) 剛於兩星期前批准馬會與內華達州的 Las
Vegas Dissemination Company （ LVDC ）所達成的協議，將來自美國的 注款直接匯合至香港賽馬彩池。
馬會行政總裁應家柏亦歡迎美國著名博彩公司 Foxwoods Resort Casino ，成為首個獲授權於當地設立的受注點，於週日開始接受香港賽馬投注並將注款匯合至 香港賽馬會彩池。
應家柏說：「鑑於 LVDC 日後將會與美國其他著名博彩娛樂公司合作，馬會期望可將本身的世界級賽馬產品輸出至當地更多認可受注地點，供馬迷投注。」

全天候大跑道翻土工程
跑道經理葉柏棕發出通告如下：
全天候大跑道今天進行了翻土工程，翻土深度為五吋半，以便將九月四日星期二鋪上的 120 立方米松皮屑，以及九月六日星期四鋪上的 100 噸粗河沙更均勻地與原有的土壤混合。
