CAPABILITY (E094)   -   after arriving at the Start was noted to have shifted its left front plate. That plate was then reset and the horse was examined by the vet who said it was suitable to race - Race 646.

GEM MASTER (G235)   -   after passing the winning post on the first occasion was checked to avoid heels. When questioned regarding the horse's poor performance, rider explained the intention was to ride the horse, which was racing for the first time over 1800M, more quietly than is usual in an endeavour to ensure it ran out the distance. After travelling behind midfield it kept on only fairly in the Straight and did not run out the distance at its first time of asking. He said the horse may be suited by a surface which is firmer than that of the track - Race 630.

TRIUMPHANT GLORY (B368)   -   for some distance after the 200M had difficulty obtaining clear running - Race 649.

G-ONE LEADING (E306)   -   after the race rider reported the horse did not handle the track conditions and after the 200M made a significant breathing noise - Race 687.

LUCKY WORLD (J053)   -   shortly after the start bumped another runner. In the early stages proved difficult to settle and pulled its way into a forward position - Race 639.

Race 3

PUERTO RICO (H147)   -   for the major part of the race hung out, making the Home Turn hung out badly and finished tailed out. Performance was considered unacceptable. Post-race vet inspection did not show any significant findings. Has since performed to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official barrier trial and passed an official vet exam - Race 650.

VINCERE (E324)   -   from a wide barrier in the early stages was taken back - Race 666.

CONNOISSEUR'S LOVE (D234)   -   the following day was reported by the vet the horse was found to be lame in the right front foot. Has since passed an official vet exam - Race 687.

Race 4

RICH DRAGON (G079)   -   after the race was examined by the vet who said an endoscopic exam showed the horse had a substantial amount of mucopus in its trachea and an intermittent displacement of the soft palate - Race 648.

FUN (H282)   -   after the 200M rider dropped the whip. In the Straight hung out - Race 648.

VALUE CHOICE (G213)   -   shortly after the start was checked when crowded for room ¡V Race 665.

HAPPY SUNDAY (E169)   -   was withdrawn on raceday morning by order of the Stewards on vet advice (lame right fore). Has since passed an official vet exam - Race 636.

Race 5

ALL OUR WAY (E217)   -   from the outside barrier in the early stages was taken back. After the 1200M was checked. After the race rider said at no stage of the race was the horse, which finished tailed out, comfortable in the wet track conditions. He said it despite being ridden along throughout the race did not stride out properly and when placed under heavy pressure after straightening did not respond. As it was apparent it was not responding, he did not persevere in riding out - Race 706.

CHATER DE LAGO (G246)   -   was difficult to load. Has since performed satisfactorily in a stalls test. Shortly after the start was initially carried in by a runner, then shifted in further away from that runner. Rider explained the instructions were the same as when he rode the horse at its most recent start. He was asked to have it in front of midfield if possible. When he rode it at its last start, it began badly as it has in the past and as a consequence got well back. He said he asked a gate attendant to assist him by holding the tail of the horse after it was boxed to prevent it from sitting back and rearing. As a result of that assistance the horse began well and was able to travel in a forward position - Race 667.

FORTUNE DRAGON (H324)   -   after the 200M whilst hanging in, was steadied when disappointed for running - Race 692.

SILVER WRAITH (E178)   -   began awkwardly and was bumped. After the 300M rider dropped the whip. Rider explained from a wide barrier he was required to make use of the horse in the early stages. He said approaching the turn at the 800M he continued forward to cross a runner, however, another runner held its position towards his inside and as such he was obliged to continue racing in a three wide position. For him to have gone forward to cross the latter runner would have required him to make further use of the horse which had already been under pressure to go forward for a considerable distance. In the Straight it failed to finish the race off and that was partly due to it being made use of in the early stages - Race 656.

Race 6

VISIONARIO (J095)   -   approaching the winning post on the first occasion had its head on the side, shifted in and then was steadied away from heels - Race 651.

VICTORY TREASURE (E031)   -   in the early stages failed to muster speed despite being ridden along. On straightening was steadied and shifted out to obtain clear running - Race 678.

ADD THE FUN (D308)   -   after entering the Back Straight got its head up and shifted out when being steadied away from heels. After that travelled wide and without cover for the remainder of the race - Race 651.

LUMINOUS (E300)   -   throughout the race travelled wide and without cover - Race 682.

OLYMPICSHIP (J283)   -   at the start bounded in the air and lost ground - Race 696.

GOLDEN BALL (H128)   -   when questioned, rider explained from a wide barrier he had been asked to ride the horse quietly and improve his position from the 600M. He said in accordance with those instructions he took the horse back in the early stages, however, a number of runners also went back. In the early stages he travelled in a position with cover, however, when a runner shifted away from the rail on entering the Back Straight it was then carried to a position without cover. In the Straight it closed the race off fairly. Trainer confirmed the instructions and said in the past the horse had performed disappointedly from wide barriers when being ridden along in the early stages to go forward. He believed for the horse to obtain a forward position, use would have to be made of it and therefore he felt it would be better suited by being ridden quietly. He said from a more favourable barrier it is able to travel more prominently - Race 658.

VICTORY STYLE (G120)   -   in the Straight hung in - Race 680.

Race 7

GOOD TO GO (H096)   -   from a wide barrier in the early stages was taken across behind runners. At the 250M whilst shifting out to obtain clear running, was hampered and bumped on several occasions - Race 629.

THE WORLD OF LOVE (C066)   -   on jumping whilst being restrained to be taken back, got its head up and struck its rider in the face. Shortly after straightening was steadied and shifted out to obtain clear running. Finished 4th and the declaration of weighed-in was deferred as the Stewards considered an incident approaching the winning post which cast doubt as to whether the runner, which finished 3rd, ought be declared the 3rd placegetter. After reviewing the films, it was decided the matter should not be proceeded to a formal protest hearing. It was established approaching the winning post the 3rd placegetter and the horse, which were closing the race off strongly, came into contact as the 3rd placegetter which had come from behind the horse shifted in slightly when awkwardly placed inside heels of the eventual winner - Race 669.

KINGIFLY (G020)   -   prior to straightening was checked severely when crowded for room - Race 668.

BRILLIANT ONE (G212)   -   finished 3rd and the declaration of weighed-in was deferred as the Stewards considered an incident approaching the winning post which cast doubt as to whether the horse ought be declared the 3rd placegetter. After reviewing the films, it was decided the matter should not be proceeded to a formal protest hearing. It was established approaching the winning post the horse and the 4th placegetter, which were closing the race off strongly, came into contact as the horse which had come from behind the 4th placegetter shifted in slightly when awkwardly placed inside heels of the eventual winner - Race 669.

DRAGON EYE (J127)   -   was withdrawn on raceday morning by order of the Stewards on vet advice (lame right fore foot). Has since passed an official vet exam - Race 668.

KIMBERLEY MINES (A367)   -   when questioned, rider said the horse was disappointing last start when left racing without cover. Because of that he was instructed to endeavour to have it begin only fairly, not to ride along which would allow runners to his inside to go forward, then to shift across to a position with cover. He said it began well, he did not ride along in the early stages in accordance with the instructions and to obtain a position with cover he was required to steady back to a rearward position. The horse was disappointing in the manner in which it closed the race off - Race 443.

TAIJI SPIRIT (D185)   -   after arriving at the Start had an adjustment made to its right front plate - Race 697.

Race 7

SOUNDS BEST (E255)   -   for a considerable distance after straightening had difficulty obtaining clear running - Race 622.

YOUNG HERO (H071)   -   throughout the race travelled wide and without cover - Race 690.

MAVERICK STAR (E279)   -   as the gates opened threw its head to the side and was slow to begin - Race 698.

NILOMETER (D052)   -   began awkwardly, initially bumped with a runner, then shifted in, struck the heels of another runner and blundered. After entering the Back Straight was shifted wider on the track to commence improving around the field - Race 690.

CLEAN SWEEP (D323)   -   was slow to begin and was taken across behind runners - Race 653.

DASH AHEAD (D199)   -   whilst in the saddling stalls had its right hind plate reset. Was then examined by the vet who said it was suitable to race - Race 632.

KING HOGAN (E257)   -   for some distance after straightening was held up and unable to obtain clear running - Race 671.
